Just one more sleep to go before a weekend full of blissful goodness begins. Can you tell I'm just a little bit excited? More like giddy with excitement and I'm not sure how I'll manage to get any sleep tonight at all! I feel rather like a kid on the night before Christmas.
Tomorrow morning a short flight will bring me to Melbourne's Tullarmarine Airport. From there I will pick up my hire car and venture towards the Yarra Valley where upon I will settle in for the following few days while I soak up every piece of The Craft Sessions. I am packed and ready to play! I have my book and knitting for the in between hours, my stash pieces for handwork with textile collage and an apron for natural dyeing using native Australian plants. The choice of classes is a smorgasbord of delight and narrowing it down to those two full-day workshops was a seriously tough decision. I think I'll have to make this an annual pilgrimage just so I can explore all those other treats on offer.
A few nights ago I went on an iTunes binge and am all set with a fresh playlist. New albums from some old favourites (like Iron and Wine, Gillian Welch and Oka) plus a few new-to-me artists too (like Sahara Beck, Nahko and Medicine for the People, and Spirit Family Reunion)! Oooh, imagine it... craft, music, new friends, delicious food, beautiful surroundings and to top it all off... I get to officially meet, in person, a lovely friend of mine... the ever so inspiring, Felicia Semple, creator of The Craft Sessions herself! I'll be giving her a great big hug after only ever having blogging, emailing and snail mail connections. Oooh golly my friends, it doesn't get much better than that for a weekend line-up!
This trip will be my very first trip away from my babes. Ever. Sure they have had overnight sleepovers with their grandparents but never have I been the one to go and never has it been for as long. This will be three nights and although I am nervous, I know they will be in the best of hands and those jitters of mine are doing nothing to quell my excitement (or theirs for that matter).
So, wherever you are, I wish you a beauty filled and joyously happy weekend. I'm convinced mine will be and I shall share all the juicy details next week :-)
